talkin' taboos (public event series)

The frequently overlooked benefit of talking to strangers is being able to say what’s on one’s mind with less danger of being judged/offending loved ones/losing one’s jobs. I founded this bi-monthly(-ish) little public event in 2021 to try to benefit from this phenomenon. Once every two months or so 12-16 people who don’t know each other get together to share a drink or two and discuss unmentionable things.

Talkers, listeners, thinkers, bibliophiles, all are welcome; disrespectful behaviour of any sort will however not be tolerated. Events are run by me, a (generally) good-natured volunteer who likes talking to strangers about things. They cost nothing but are held in cafés and such, where purchasing a beverage or two to support the venue is requested. Other than that I am affiliated to nothing, selling nothing, and will neither collect or sell your data.

Are you in Berlin and do you want to join? More info and register here. If you are an attendee who signed up for an event and is now desperately trying to find us drop a message in the signal group here.

* (events are run with W.E.I.R.Do [White, Educated, Industrialised, Rich, Democratic] blinders on, so challenges and criticism to that effect are encouraged.)
