RSVP Robot

AI has arrived, by gum. But what does this mean? Will we all lose our jobs? Will human experience/feelings become irrelevant? Are algorithms the new doctors/teachers/programmers/artists of our time? In short, is this the beginning of the end of humanity as we know it? It seems to me that rather than wasting all our time in wild conjecture and anxious paranoia, the easiest thing is just to invite the robots to the table and ask them directly.

To wit: RSVP Robot.

A small group of carbon-based primitives (aka. humans) are going to meet at a bar in Berlin along with one guest laptop with a wifi connection. We shall boot up ChatGPT (for those of you new to our imminent existential replacements: https://openai.com/blog/chatgpt/), imbibe freely (except the laptop, the Robots don’t get any drinks) and ask the AI questions, existential, personal, whatever comes to mind. The idea is to discuss the results and then collectively further our inquiries and see if ChatGPT can’t tailor a sweeping revelation for us about the world to come and the roles we will play in it.

If you are reading this page, you are one of the invitees. The event will take place on Tues. 21. February at 7pm (you know the meeting place!)
