2014 | What's in a head?
Part of the Vesalius Continuum project developed to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the anatomist Andreas Vesalius. Fabrica Vitae was an exhibition of medical-based artworks bridging the disciplines of art and science. Having completed an internship at the Bodyworlds plastinarium in Guben, Germany, pinning innards into place within freshly plastinated specimens of heads resulted in this series of drawings isolating each system found inside the human cranium. The works, which were printed in Brick Literary Journal 96, were later used for a subsequent project called "Inside the Box", completed for the Pier 9 Artist in Residence program in 2015.
